Permits, placement and who may haul in North Aurora
Who may haul — the rule that matters: § 5.04.020 says no one may collect, remove and dispose of garbage, refuse and waste in North Aurora for pay without a Village contract or a Waste Removal License, and § 5.04.030 sets the licence at $270 a year for haulers other than the residential contract hauler. We hold ours.
On a house lot (§ 8.12.060, June 2025): on an improved single-family lot, a dumpster is allowed only for a "limited and specific effort to clean up the property" — for as long as strictly necessary — or for a project with a permit, and only for the life of that permit. Recurring or ongoing use is not allowed. The rule does not apply to a developer's new residential construction.
In the street: § 8.12.070 says no refuse container of any kind may be placed or kept on a public right-of-way for any purpose, other than carts on collection day. There is no street permit — driveway only.
Demolition: within 15 days of a demolition, the owner must remove all debris and restore the site to its original grade (§ 15.22.020). The demolition permit fee was not found.
